HOW GET TO Coronet Peak
Driving Options
The basecamp of The Coronet Peak Ski Resort is located about 25 minutes drive away from the center of Queenstown or a 15 minute drive to the small base of mountain parking lot before driving up the mountain.
There is parking available at both the top and the base of the Ski Area with a number of lots available.
If you plan on driving to the upper parking areas you will be checked for tire chains as the road does build up enough snow to need them on certain winter days. There are also several car parks at the top of the mountain with the best ones being within walking distance of the lifts. Others lots you will need to jump on the free parking lot shuttle bus that will take you from the lower lots.
On days where there is recent snow or is during holidays / weekends you will need to arrive within the first hour or so of the mountain open time to secure a car park as they do fill up especially during school holidays .

The conditions during winter in Coronet Peak New Zealand are quite extreme, but the snow is great for skiing. The average temperature during the winter months is 8°C, which is usually pretty cold. The temperatures can drop below 0°C and even hit -10°C on some nights. If you're planning on going skiing during this time of year, make sure you pack warm clothing because it's going to be cold outside!

Is there Night Skiing at Coronet Peak?
Coronet Peak offers night skiing on particular days of the week.
In 2022 it is expected night Skiing will operate 4-9pm on Wednesday and Friday nights starting from 22nd June – and ending on 2nd Sept also night skiing will operate the three school holiday Saturdays in July.

are their Storage Lockers at Coronet Peak?
Yes, the base camp of Coronet Peak has heaps of paid storage lockers to keep your stuff safe and secure while you are up on the slopes. You do not need to book in advance. Note these are more meant for storing say a backpack or bag rather than you ski's and snowboards. Most ski resorts operate on a honor system where you can place your board and skis on the racks. If you want to be extra safe with your flashy new board we recommend buying a small ski / snowboard lock.
