Curious to know what the snow is like today at Sun Peaks Ski Resort?
The following is a live Snow Cam feed of the slopes at the Sun Peaks Ski Resort. We’ve curated the best views to show you the current snow conditions from around the resort.
The resort receives an average seasonal snowfall of 6 meters per season. Even though this is less than in most resorts in BC, the snow volume is decent enough for great riding down the vast slopes.
At Sun Peaks Ski Resort, the snow is delightfully dry, meaning that the emphasis is on snow quality but not quantity. The snow on the resort is also well-preserved due to the prevailing cold temperatures. In addition to the cold temps, the majority of the slopes have a northerly aspect which limits the amount of sun exposure.
The three constituent mountains that form the resort’s terrain receive their own brand of snow. For instance, Mt. Morrisey’s slopes are north facing and the snow quality here is of higher quality and lasts longer. The excellent snow conditions also last all the way to spring. The Burfield area’s slopes are south-facing and get 30% less snow than the Morrisey area. Burfield also has the most challenging terrain.
In complement to the snow quantity, the resort’s grooming team does a great job of curating the snow on the slopes, where they remove the rocks and stumps, making for great riding.
