The Park City Mountain Ski Resort has 3,300 acres of skiing and snowboarding terrain. In addition to the vast terrain, there are more snow sports opportunities in the adjoining ski areas of Canyons. The terrain is located on a 969-meter elevation, with the lowest lifted point being 2,080 meters while the highest lifted point is 3,049 meters. The resort has one of the highest base elevations in North America.
The resort’s top half is perfect for advanced and expert skiers and snowboarders, with multiple bowls and gladed areas. While the expert and advanced features are not as terrifying as those in the ski resorts of Alta and Snowbird, Jupiter Peak has quite challenging features. The lower half of the resort’s terrain, on the other hand, is great for intermediates and beginners and has wide groomers of varying difficulty.

Even though from the resort’s stats it appears that there is a small proportion of green slopes, given the size of the resort, the beginner slopes are still quite expansive. Absolute novices cut their teeth with the aptly named First Time lift near the base of the resort. Further uphill, there are more dedicated beginner areas in the slow zone.
With almost half of the Park City Mountain Resort indicated as intermediate, the resort is an absolute snow playground for intermediates. Most of the terrain on the upper parts of the resort is rated either blue or black, with features that delight advanced and intermediate riders.
In particular, the King Con lift area has a staggering number of blue runs in addition to the other places on the terrain. There are massive and wide groomers that intermediates love if their knees can take it. More experienced intermediates will delight in the high-quality and abundant snow as well as the lengthy pistes on the McConkey’s lift, Tycoon, and Georgeanna run.
The resort has great on-piste runs nearer the lower parts of the mountain. These are regularly groomed to prevent the bumps from getting too large. The advanced pistes off the Motherlode and Thaynes lifts are especially the best for riders looking for a little more challenge. There are also great places to ride on the Black Forest and the Blue Slip bowl off the Pioneer lift which receive copious powder rewards.
For the experts, the McConkie’s Bowl is the most popular ride location. It has challenging features including shoulder-high moguls and steep gladed runs. The most challenging runs at PCMR are those found on the Jupiter Bowl, the highest lift-accessed point on the resort. Here, advanced riders find the perfect playground with double black diamond trails that will keep even the most experienced expert rider on edge.
The Park City Mountain Resort has a great lift network with plenty of fast lifts that allow convenient access to the resort’s terrain. The crown jewel of the resort’s conveyance system is the gondolas which are fast and run from the base of the Silverlode Lift. The other lifts include 33 chairlifts and 6 surface lifts. Due to the resort’s popularity, riders may experience long lift lines during the weekends, holidays, and seasonal peaks. As a mitigation measure, the ski field has a great notification system that warns riders of likely wait times when there’s high traffic.
