Various skier and snowboarder abilities and levels love Mt Seymour’s varied terrain, which has something for everyone. The skiable slopes on this resort total 200 acres, with about half of this area being floodlit for night skiing. The terrain is situated at an elevation of 330 meters with the highest lifted point at the resort being 1,265 meters and the lowest being 935 meters. There are 40 trails available for enjoying various kinds of snow sports on the mountain, 13 of which are available for night skiing. The longest trail on the resort is 1.6 kilometers long.

The official stats for the resort’s slopes are as follows:

  • Beginner: 40%
  • Intermediate: 40%
  • Advanced: 20%

Mt Seymour has superb groomed runs that are spread out over two mountains. The beginner zones have gentle slopes that allow novices to get used to the slopes at their own pace. They are served by beginner-friendly lifts that include chairlifts and two magic carpets. In addition, there is a ski school with lessons delivered by experienced instructors. There is also ample space for beginners to progress to more challenging blue runs.

Advanced and intermediate skiers and snowboarders delight in the resort’s 4 terrain parks with thrilling features to keep them busy. There are also great advanced slopes off of the Brockton Chair, with tons of challenging features. 

Lifts at Mt Seymour Ski Resort

Mt Seymour has 4 lift types which serve all of its 23 kilometers of slopes. The lifts conveniently ferry thrill-seekers up the mountain to various slopes according to their ability and level. The lifts include 2 chairlifts, 1 rope two, and 2 magic carpets. 

The lifts have the following details:

  • The Mystery Peak Express – This is a 4-person, detachable high-speed quad that takes about 4 minutes to climb a 220-meter vertical and travel a distance of 1,066 meters. This lift ferries all kinds of riders to access a range of beginner slopes, blue runs, and advanced terrain upslope. It can transport up to 1,400 people and their equipment every hour.
  • Lodge Chair – This is a 2-person fixed-grip chair which covers a length of 442 meters and ascends an 88-meter vertical in 3 minutes. It has a carrying capacity of 1,440 people per hour. This lift takes riders back to the main area and allows easy access to green and blue runs.
  • Brockton Chair – This is a 2-person fixed-grip double chairlift that has a carrying capacity of 1,440 people per hour. It takes 5 minutes to ascend a 71-meter gradient and travel a length of 700 meters. It allows advanced riders to access some of the most challenging pistes at the summit of the mountain.
  • Goldie and Wonder – These are two magic carpet lifts located on beginner slopes that connect straight from the village. The surface lifts are 150 meters long and ascend a 21-meter vertical. They can ferry up to 1,500 persons every hour.

How To Get A Ski Pass To Mt Seymour Ski Resort

You can get your ski passes conveniently by purchasing them from the resort’s online store. To save money, you can take advantage of early bird offers and pre-season discounts.

Please note that passes for every activity at the resort including skiing, snowboarding, tubing, tobogganing, and snowshoeing must be purchased in advance and cannot be obtained onsite.

The following are the kinds of tickets that you can purchase at the resort:

  • Full-day tickets – These allow you to ride from 9:30 AM to the time the resort closes.
  • Night Skiing Passes – These allow you to hit the slopes from 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
  • Season Passes – With over 120 days per season, these passes offer the best value for money, if you intend to visit the resort for more than 10 days

How To Get to Mt Seymour Ski Resort

Mt Seymour ski resort is located in Metro Vancouver. It is within British Columbia, in the vicinity of Coast and Mountains and Lower Mainland. It is situated in the Mount Seymour Provincial Park, with its ski and snowboard slopes overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

The resort is situated about 30 minutes from the northern part of Vancouver and offers spectacular views of the harbor and downtown Vancouver.

Getting to Mount Seymour Ski Resort by Air

The closest airport is Vancouver International Airport which has many flight options from Canadian regional airports and cities, as well as international destinations. It takes about 30 minutes to an hour to get to the resort from the airport and the city. Common means of airport transfer include shuttle bus rides and rental cars. If you’re traveling as a group or with your family, a private shuttle option is the best.

Driving to Mount Seymour Ski Resort

To get to the resort from Downtown Vancouver, you get to the other side of the Second Narrows Bridge and exit at Exit 22B. Keep right and take note of the signs guiding you along towards the resort’s parkway. 

When you get to the Parkgate Village, take a left turn and drive for 13 kilometers on Mt Seymour Road. For more information and safety precautions when driving up the resort, please read the resort’s Road and Parking Info.

The road to the resort is often plowed and sanded during the winter. However, weather conditions can change rapidly. This means that if you’re driving up to the resort, you need a good set of snow tires that are in excellent working condition. To help you identify snow tires, check out wheels marked with a peaked mountain with an inset snowflake or the symbol M + S. 

Please note that if your vehicle is not fit to drive through challenging snow conditions or does not have the appropriate gear, Mt Seymour’s Traffic Attendants reserve the right to deny you entry. 

To use the resort’s parking facilities during the weekends and holidays, all guests and holders of the season pass must reserve their parking in advance. If you arrive at the resort and you don’t have a reservation or pass containing ‘arriving by car’, your vehicle may be turned away. 

In contrast, if you plan to hit the slopes during the weekday, you don’t need to reserve a parking spot in advance. However, vehicles will be granted a slot on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pass holders have the option to flag their tickets either as ‘arriving by car’ or ‘arriving by shuttle’ when purchasing.

Getting to Mount Seymour by Shuttle Bus

The resort operates a regular shuttle service during the winter months which departs from the Parkgate Community Center or the Rupert Skytrain Station in East Vancouver. Mt Seymour Unlimited and Season pass holders can ride the shuttle for free.
