The mountain has a summit elevation of 1,565 meters (5,144 feet), which makes it one of the highest peaks in New Zealand.

The snow conditions are usually excellent due to the low temperatures in the region (in fact, they can get as low as -10 degrees Celsius).

There are also plenty of fun snow play areas that have been designed with families in mind—like the Alpine Tobogganing Run, which is one of the first things you'll see as you enter the park.
